Spring Reminds Me That God Renews Us Too

Spring does not rush. It simply becomes. And every year it reminds me that God renews us too. Even after grief. Even after exhaustion. Even after waiting.

Spring Reminds Me That God Renews Us Too

There is something about spring that makes me pause.

Maybe it is the way the air shifts. The way trees that looked lifeless just weeks ago begin to stretch again. The way tiny buds appear where there was nothing but bare branches.

Spring does not ask permission to bloom. It just does.

And every year, it feels like God is gently reminding me, I renew you too.

As a mama to a medically complex child, I know what long seasons feel like.

Hospital rooms that stretch into months. Sleepless nights that blur into mornings. Prayers whispered through tears because you are too tired to say them out loud.

There have been seasons where everything in my life felt stripped down to survival. No color. No softness. Just endurance.

And yet.

Just like winter never has the final word, neither does hardship.

Bare Does Not Mean Dead

One of the most powerful lessons spring teaches me is that bare does not mean dead.

I have looked at trees in February and thought, this is it. They look done. Brittle. Forgotten.

But under the surface, something is still working.

Roots are still alive.

Sap is still moving.

Preparation is still happening where nobody can see it.

And that is how God works in us too.

There were seasons in my life where I felt spiritually dry. Emotionally stretched. Physically exhausted from caregiving while navigating my own health battles.

On the outside, I may have looked strong. But inside, I was asking God if anything new could ever grow again.

Spring answers that question every single year.

Yes.

Renewal Does Not Rush

Here is what I love about spring.

It does not compete with winter. It does not argue with what was lost. It simply arrives in its time.

Little by little.

Bud by bud.

Light by light.

And I think sometimes we expect God to renew us in one dramatic moment. One prayer. One breakthrough. One instant shift.

But often, renewal looks quieter than that.

It looks like waking up and choosing hope again.
It looks like laughing with your child after a hard week.
It looks like forgiving someone even when the wound still aches.
It looks like resting when your body says enough.

It looks like trusting that even when you feel bare, you are not abandoned.

What Spring Teaches My Mama Heart

Spring reminds me that the story is not over.

Not for me.
Not for Jace.
Not for you.

The same God who tells flowers when to bloom knows exactly how to tend to us.

He knows how to bring beauty out of medical charts and diagnoses.
He knows how to bring strength out of exhaustion.
He knows how to bring joy out of places we thought were permanently broken.

I have lived long enough to see Him do it.

Again.
And again.
And again.

So if you are in a winter season right now, hear me gently.

Just because you feel bare does not mean you are done.

Just because you feel quiet does not mean God is silent.

Just because nothing looks like it is changing does not mean nothing is growing.

Spring is proof.

Renewal is not a myth. It is a promise.

And if God can renew the earth every single year, He can renew you too.

Let this be the season you stop measuring yourself by what fell away and start trusting what is about to bloom.

Spring reminds me that God renews us too.

And honey, I am believing that for you.
