Spring Cleaning for the Soul

Just like our homes, our hearts need clearing too. This is your invitation to release what is heavy and make room for peace.

Spring Cleaning for the Soul

Y’all, there is something about spring that makes you want to open up the windows, let fresh air in, and start clearing things out.

Closets get cleaned. Drawers get reorganized. Things we have held onto for way too long finally get tossed or given away.

But can I be honest?

Sometimes the clutter is not in our homes.

It is in our hearts.

What Are You Still Holding On To

We carry so much and do not even realize how heavy it has become.

Old disappointments. Unanswered prayers. Hurt from people who never apologized. Expectations that did not turn out the way we planned.

And instead of dealing with it, we learn how to function around it.

We smile. We show up. We keep going.

But deep down, it is still there.

Spring has a way of gently asking us a question we sometimes avoid.

What are you still holding on to that you no longer need?

Letting Go Is Not Losing

Letting go can feel scary.

Because sometimes, what we are holding onto is familiar, even if it hurts. It becomes a part of our story, a part of how we make sense of things.

But letting go is not about pretending something did not matter.

It is about deciding it will not have control over you anymore.

It is releasing the need for closure you may never get. It is choosing peace over replaying the same situation in your mind. It is trusting that God can handle what you are finally ready to put down.

Clearing Space for What You Need

Just like a cluttered room makes it hard to move around, a cluttered heart makes it hard to breathe.

When everything is piled up emotionally, it is hard to hear clearly, think clearly, or even feel peace.

But when you start clearing things out, even little by little, something shifts.

You make room for rest.

You make room for joy.

You make room for God to move in ways you might have been too overwhelmed to notice before.

What Soul Cleaning Can Look Like

This does not have to be complicated.

Sometimes it looks like sitting down and being honest about what is weighing on you. Sometimes it looks like writing it out in a journal and releasing it one page at a time.

Sometimes it looks like setting boundaries where you used to overextend yourself. Sometimes it looks like choosing not to revisit something that keeps reopening the same wound.

And sometimes, it looks like resting.

Real rest.

Not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually too.

Giving Yourself Permission to Start Fresh

Here is the part I want you to really hold onto.

You are allowed to start fresh.

You are allowed to release what no longer serves you. You are allowed to heal at your own pace. You are allowed to choose peace, even if everything around you is not perfect.

God is not asking you to carry everything forever.

Some things were only meant for a season.

And maybe this is yours to let it go.

Closing Encouragement

As you move into this new season, I want you to think about more than just what needs to be cleaned in your home.

Think about what needs to be cleared in your heart.

Let this be your moment to open the windows of your soul, let the light in, and release what has been weighing you down.

You deserve peace.

And there is room for it.
